Didja Notice?

Ma Reynolds demonstrates the formidable power of a 2508 Blue Sun Skycracker, a gun mounted on her spaceship. This is the first appearance of such a weapon.

On page 4, Ma Reynolds remarks that the Alliance is busy dealing with Reaver attacks on the other side of the 'Verse. Reavers are psychotic cannibal pirates created by exposure to the chemical G-23 Paxilon Hydrochlorate, a disastrous attempt by the Alliance at behavioral modification years ago. The crew of Serenity later encounters Reavers in "Triggered", "A Better World", and "Living Weapon".
